Gently fold in the sifted all purpose flour and cornstarch until a smooth dough forms.




Transfer the dough into a piping bag fitted with a fluted tip and pipe 1-inch rounds onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, ensuring there is enough space for the cookies to spread.



Bake the cookies for 12 to 14 minutes until they are lightly golden, then remove from the oven and allow them to cool completely on the baking sheet.


In a saucepan, combine the filling ingredients and cook over very low heat, stirring constantly for 25 to 30 minutes until the mixture thickens and turns a pale golden color, then set aside to cool.
