Bring the mixture to a gentle boil and simmer until the sugar has completely dissolved, then remove from heat.


Strain the basil leaves out of the syrup using a fine mesh sieve and set the syrup aside to chill in the refrigerator.


In a blender, combine the strawberries, milk, chilled basil syrup, lime juice, and lime zest until smooth.






Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions until the desired consistency is reached.
