Divide the dough into small balls and flatten them into discs, then place a spoonful of the filling ingredients in the center and fold the edges to seal into a cigar or turnover shape.

Heat a generous amount of vegetable oil in a heavy-bottomed pot or deep fryer to 175°C.

Carefully lower the molotes into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy, then remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
