In a large mixing bowl, toss the shredded knafeh dough with the remaining melted butter until every strand is thoroughly coated.



Press half of the buttered dough firmly into the bottom of the prepared baking pan, then spread the mozzarella cheese evenly over the surface.


Cover the cheese layer with the remaining dough and bake in the oven for 40 to 45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.


While the dessert bakes, combine sugar, water, and lemon juice in a saucepan over medium heat. Simmer until dissolved, then stir in the rose water and remove from heat to cool.





Pour the cooled syrup over the hot Knafeh immediately after removing it from the oven, allowing it to soak for 10 minutes before serving.
