In a separate bowl, whisk the egg yolks and sugar together until the mixture is pale and slightly thickened.

Chill the custard base in the refrigerator for 2 hours until completely cold.

Pour the chilled base into an ice cream machine and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions.


Transfer the churned ice cream to a container and freeze for at least 4 hours until firm enough to scoop.
