In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat olive oil over medium heat and add the sliced onions. Cook, stirring frequently, until they are deeply caramelized and golden brown.

Meanwhile, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta until al dente. Drain using a colander.
