Preheat your oven to 200°C. Take small walnut-sized balls of pastry and press them firmly into the holes of your patty tins to form the base.


Spoon the mincemeat into each pastry-lined hole. Roll out smaller balls of pastry to create lids, placing them over the filling and pressing the edges gently to seal.


Beat the egg in a small bowl and use a pastry brush to lightly glaze the tops of the pies.



Bake the pies for 20 minutes until they are golden brown. Allow them to cool in the tin for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack, then dust with icing sugar before serving.
