Spread the bread crumbs onto a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt, black pepper, and oregano. Toss well to coat and bake for 15 minutes until golden brown.








In a small bowl, mash the anchovy fillets using a fork until they form a paste.



Heat olive oil in a large cast iron skillet over low heat. Add the mashed anchovies and cook, stirring with a wooden spoon, until they dissolve into the oil.



Increase the heat to medium, add the chopped onions, and sauté until soft and translucent, approximately five minutes.


Add the string beans and fresh black pepper to the skillet. Sauté for 10 minutes until the beans are tender-crisp.



Stir in the toasted breadcrumbs, cook for one additional minute, and remove from heat. Serve immediately with an extra anchovy fillet on top.
