Pat the flank steak dry and season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.





Lightly brush the grill pan with cooking oil and place it over high heat until smoking hot.


Place the flank steak in the hot pan and sear for approximately 3 minutes per side until a deep char develops and the internal temperature reaches medium-rare.



Transfer the steak to a cutting board and allow it to rest for 5 minutes to retain juices.
