Sprinkle the orange slices with demerara sugar and drizzle with Grand Marnier. Set aside to macerate.



Crumble the Christmas pudding into large chunks and scatter them across the bottom of a trifle bowl.


Layer the macerated orange slices over the pudding, pouring any remaining juices from the plate into the bowl.


In a mixing bowl, beat the mascarpone until smooth, then fold in the custard. Spoon this mixture over the orange layer.





Lightly whip the heavy cream and spread it over the custard layer. Garnish with flaked almonds and grated dark chocolate.
