In a small bowl, whisk together the softened butter and honey until well combined.




Heat a wide skillet over medium heat. Add the honey-butter mixture and allow it to melt and bubble.




Place the Brussels sprouts in the skillet, cut-side down, in a single layer. Sear undisturbed for 8 to 10 minutes until the cut sides are golden brown and charred.


Season the sprouts with salt and red pepper flakes. Toss the sprouts to coat, then add the water and cover the skillet. Steam for 3 to 5 minutes until the sprouts are tender when pierced with a fork.
