Heat vegetable oil in a large frying pan over medium heat.


Remove chicken from the marinade and sear in the frying pan until golden brown on all sides. Remove and set aside.


Add the remaining onions from the marinade to the frying pan and cook until soft and caramelized, then return the chicken to the pan with the remaining marinade liquid.



Simmer everything together until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce has thickened. Season with additional salt and pepper to taste and serve hot.
