In a mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar using an electric hand mixer until light and fluffy, then beat in eggs and vanilla extract.






Divide the mixture into two bowls; stir cocoa powder and flour into one for the brownie batter, and just flour into the other for the cookie dough.



Spread the brownie batter into the prepared square baking pan, then dollop the cookie dough on top and swirl gently with a spatula.


Bake in the oven for 50 to 60 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
